Colin Kaepernick claims to have received death threats

The San Francisco 49s quarterback said he has received the threats through a "couple different avenues", he told reporters on Tuesday, along with threats on social media.

"If something like that were to happen, you've proved my point", Kaepernick told reporters.

The backup quarterback says he has not reported the threats to his team's security.

Let's hope positive change will come as Kaepernick and others continue to take a stand. "That's not something I haven't thought about".

Several players from the Miami Dolphins have joined in the protest, but the police union has asked deputies not to escort players until they are all standing to sing. And it needs to be addressed and be taken care of because what's going on is not right.

Kaepernick also touched on the recent killing of Terrence Crutcher, an Oklahoma man who was gunned down by police, although he wasn't found with a weapon.

Rice did not detail whether or not he agreed with Kaepernick's method of bringing attention to injustice against African-Americans. Football World Cup victor Megan Rapinoe has chosen to kneel before U.S. worldwide soccer games. "You have players across this country, not only in the National Football League but soccer and NBA and high school players, they don't like to address this issue that people of color are oppressed and treated unjustly".

Plenty of the people who hate Colin Kaepernick simply resent him for forcing them to think about an urgent societal problem when they're trying to lose themselves in sports. "And they don't like to address what the root of this protest is", he continued.

"They shot and killed a man and walked around like it wasn't a human being", Kapernick said.

Kaepernick also said that he plans to start a website soon to track a donation of $1m he will make to organizations supporting the cause of racial equality. On Tuesday, he said he will donate $100,000 every month for the next 10 months to different organizations, with a website being created to track how the money is used.
