The government will be reportedly creating more than 11 million jobs this year to help reduce the 4.5 percent of urban unemployment.
Washington state's unemployment rate is the lowest it's been in almost 10 years, dropping to 4.7 percent last month. Over the past year, Tennessee's unemployment rate increased by half a percentage point to 4.6 percent while the national rate of 5.0 percent decreased by half a point.
State Labor Secretary Ronald Walker says there have been "substantial increases" in recent months in the state's overall labor force, with new workers entering the job market.

The agency says government, manufacturing and professional and business services enjoyed strong job growth last month. The Governor and state economist Bill Anderson also want you to know Nevada has gone from the bottom of the job growth rankings to near the top in just six years. The labor participation rate is the percentage of all Georgia residents at least 16 years old who are in the labor force.
From March 2016 through March 2017, 12 of the state's 13 industry sectors added jobs.
Information sector jobs increased by 200 in March 2017 and has risen by 1,300 jobs or 5.7 percent since March 2016. Year over year, new claims are down by 2,963 from 27,982. The largest increases occurred in professional/business services, leisure/hospitality, and trade/transportation/utilities. Over the year, Construction has added 4,100 (+2.8%) jobs.
Leisure and Hospitality lost 400 jobs (-0.1%) over the month. Employment statistics undergo sharp fluctuations due to seasonal events, such as weather changes, harvests, holidays and school openings and closings.
