Confirmed! Badlapur 2 is under process with female protagonist

Mumbai: Within a decade, model-turned actress Deepika Padukone has transformed into a power house of talent.

The 2015-hit movie "Badlapur" starring Varun Dhawan, established the then newbie as a versatile actor.

According a report in DNA, Badlapur producer Dinesh Vijan is keen on roping Deepika Padukone in for the film. Latest reports suggest that filmmaker Dinesh Vijan is planning to cast actress Deepika Padukone on the sequel of the film. Varun played an intense character who went on a killing spree, seeking revenge for the death of his loved ones.

Dinesh will be working with Deepika for the fifth time after Cocktail, Love Aaj Kal and Finding Fanny. While she has been a part of most of his films, she recently also made a guest appearance in Dinesh's directorial debut Raabta for the title song. Dinesh has bounced the idea off to Deepika and she has loved it.

Now for his next, Badlapur 2, he wants Deepika Padukone to be the protagonist of the movie. The script of the film is yet to be formed after which narration will be given to the actress. The film stars Varun Dhawan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, with Huma Qureshi, Yami Gautam and Radhika Apte in supporting roles.

Badlapur 2 is expected to roll sometime in the second half of 2018.

As Deepika is now busy shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati, the actress might start the shooting of Badlapur 2 from November this year. When DNA reached for comment, Vijan told that the cast is yet to be finalised.
