Google introduces Play Protect to keep harmful apps at bay

Google has not released any technical details of the new service. Alongside the Android O, the company also announced Android Go which is an optimised Android software for entry-level consumers on devices with up to 1GB of RAM. Android O is obviously at the top of everyone's minds, especially now that there are more than 2 billion monthly active Android devices in use, and Google announced plenty of new Android O features. It also addresses apps downloaded from third-party app stores that aren't subject to Google's automated malware scanner Verify Apps, part of the Google Play app store. Find My Device offers an fresh user interface for Android Device Manager and adds new features, including the ability to remotely lock a lost device. Since yesterday was the Keynote speech and most of the bigger announcements happened on the first day, today has seen less announcements in general and ones that weren't as monumental for the world of Google and Android.

The new browser-based service does away with the need to enter in usernames or passwords when shopping over an Android phone running OS4.4 and higher.

Developers will be able to use this API to build an easy checkout system into their apps.

Google said that they have been building the technology behind the Lens for many years and that this new initiative represents a grown-up version of the visual search up Google Goggles, introduced in 2010.

This step will allow Google to help its users to buy online things easily as one can choose its mode of payment and preferred card, enter the code and then just simply check out.
