Jose Mourinho optimistic goalkeeper David De Gea will stay at Man United

United will travel to Stockholm for Wednesday's Europa League final against Ajax just three days after hosting Palace in their final league game of the season.

Mourinho continued: "It's frustrating for me".

Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, right sees his shot on goal saved by Celta's goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez during the Europa League semifinal second leg soccer match between Manchester United and Celta Vigo at Old Trafford in Manchester, England, Thursday, May 11, 2017.

"I have been here seven years and I never saw any detail trying to care about the English teams involved in European competitions".

"I hope the fans on Sunday support the team, they forgive some naivety, they forgive some lack of confidence and I hope Big Sam (Allardyce, Palace's manager) shows he's a good friend and he goes slow".

'But David is top in the world and obviously we want to keep the top in the world'.

[Marouane] Fellaini hasn't got a tear but he's experienced enough to know he had a feeling.

"I hope to play Sergio in the final and hopefully we don't have problems with the keepers".

Having played several other fringe players against Southampton, Mourinho said the understudies had given him food for thought as he considers his team for the final.

Ajax started the season in the Champions League qualification rounds before a two-legged defeat to Russian side Rostov meant they dropped into the Europa League group stages, where United's campaign also started. "From the moment Palace beat Hull, I think the match had to be on Saturday".

Southampton manager Claude Puel refused to discuss his future at the club, which is the subject of speculation. "After the season we have time to discuss and speak about this and make a debrief".

"I don't go with (Sergio Romero can replace De Gea) "if he leaves" because I hope he doesn't", he said. "It's important to focus on our last game".
