Kerr 'not ready' to return to Warriors sideline

James was asked about his thoughts on the Cavs' chances in the NBA Finals against a Western Conference juggernaut in the Golden State Warriors. "I'm still feeling the effects".

Personally, this all makes good fodder, but this is how we truly feel about anyone putting any stock into anything Stephen A. has to say. "[With that said, ] I came out in preseason this year and threw a behind-the-back pass because I have confidence that I can do it and it won't change that", he said.

James referred to the Warriors as only "that juggernaut" and "a beast" following Thursday's Game 5 in at Boston, a night in which he passed Michael Jordan as the career post-season scoring leader. Riley's Heat led the league in games missed to injury, a number inflated by Chris Bosh missing all 82 with a blood clot issue. He also sat out two games in the first round due to a calf strain. You saw me in the fourth quarter of Game Two, I could not sit still in my chair, it was that much pain. I could not sit still in my chair. That's why I'm here talking to you right now.

And Kerr still hasn't lost his since of humor, either. "Yeah, I still think about that [turnover]", Curry told ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Admittedly, I haven't been around the Warriors like some of the other traveling reporters.

"I expect it to be a competitive series, absolutely", Green said.

It might come as a surprise that Golden State leads the National Basketball Association in cuts during the playoffs.

The spotlight will shine brightest on Kevin Durant and LeBron James, for if Cleveland can pull off a (slight) upset and win the title, it will scream volumes about each star's place in the sport's history. At the same time, he recognizes the synergy he and Brown have created sharing the coaching duties.

"This is what everyone wants to see and this what we all want to be a part of".

After Curry's turnover, his team scored just one basket-a layup by Thompson-for the remainder of the game.

Klay Thompson, Golden State: After compiling a 17.4 PER during the regular season, Thompson enters the Finals with a postseason PER of 8.4 in 413 minutes.

"Want the Warriors?" he said. But again, for me it's not necessarily something I'm thinking about. Health is always the No. 1 priority.

But to deny Brown's impact on the 10 victories the Warriors have produced since Kerr backed away would be unfair. They probably won't succeed in shutting down James but you would still trust them more to make enough timely stops over the course of the series than the Cavs. But Brown has been mostly flawless in his approach. So it's not easy, but he's obviously doing a good job. This is without question the greatest test he has ever faced.

Meanwhile, Golden State should be that much tougher with Draymond Green and Javale McGee in the game and they have the reserves to bring help off the bench if need be. More pressure will be on Mike Brown than ever before - especially against a franchise who has already fired him twice. It has eased the burden going into this matchup, allowing the Cavaliers to play with less pressure, no longer carrying a 52-year title drought with them.
