NBA Draft 2017: Should Celtics trade or keep No. 1 pick?

The Los Angeles Lakers secured the #2 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft during last night's lottery selection, paving the way for Magic Johnson and co.to draft the hometown kid Lonzo Ball - assuming Boston doesn't throw a wrench in their plans.

One night after taking credit for the Celtics landing the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Celtics legend Paul Pierce has already revealed what he believes the club should do with the pick. 'Game last night, Game 7, a tough Washington team.

The Charlotte Hornets, Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat will get the final four lottery picks. "I'm going to keep talking about it until it happens".

Following an National Basketball Association draft lottery night that saw the ping pong balls give the Los Angeles Lakers the No. 2 pick, the father of projected top-three pick Lonzo Ball - already blunt beforehand in where he wants his son to play - doesn't plan to give any other team besides the hometown Lakers a chance.

The Kings actually came away in good shape after the NBA Draft Lottery. But there is a small, small chance Miami could end up with a top-three pick.

Philadelphia would receive any Lakers pick that landed outside the top three picks, but the odds favored Los Angeles, giving them the second overall pick in the draft. Not only would Boston have to trade the pick, they would also have to give up multiple rotational pieces and starters.

Even though the Cavs are the defending champions, it was Boston - not Cleveland - that finished the regular season with the best record in the East and with it, home court advantage.

The Philadelphia 76ers will select third. "We jumped up one more spot".

"We've got plenty of time to decide what to do, but I would imagine we would probably make the pick".

The Celtics were going to be in prime position no matter how the pingpong balls bounced in a hotel ballroom Tuesday. "With a team like that, the defending champions, you can't let them hit first". Tonight, they are hosting the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers, led by Lebron James...it's been a good week for The Celtics. "This team is a lot of fun to be around this year".

ESPN lists Markelle Fultz, Ball, De'Aaron Fox, Josh Jackson and Jayson Tatum as candidates to be selected first overall. Not only did the Lakers keep the pick, but they actually moved up a spot, to No. 2.

The lottery basically determines the first 14 picks in the draft and includes the teams that did not qualify for the postseason.
