But they were left "furious" by repeated leaks of material shared with their U.S. counterparts, which provided an awkward backdrop for Prime Minister Theresa May's meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels later in the day.

"I will make clear to President Trump that intelligence that is shared between our law enforcement agencies must remain secure", she said in a televised statement.

The appearance crime scene on USA newspaper has been a setback for the United States intelligence agencies as the British police have stopped sharing information about the Manchester suicide bombing with them.

On Wednesday, The New York Times posted photos that show what it said could be the detonator, a battery, nuts and screws for shrapnel, and fragments of a backpack used in the attack.

Britain's top counterterrorism officer, Mark Rowley, announced late on Thursday that the UK had resumed exchanging intelligence with the United States on the Manchester terror investigation following a string of leaks by U.S. officials to the media.

British police chiefs said the breaches of trust between security service partners were undermining their efforts.

Scooter Braun, Grande's manager, wrote a series of tweets telling his 4.1 million followers not let terrorism win after a suicide bombing killed 22 people, including young children, and injured dozens Monday.

French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb said Abedi was believed to have traveled to Syria and had "proven" links to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant group, which claimed responsibility for the attack.

In a statement, the New York Times defended its decision to publish the images, saying they were "neither graphic nor disrespectful of victims".

Greater Manchester Police Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said, without elaborating, that searches of suspects' homes brought "very important" clues in the probe of the bombing.

Six men arrested in the United Kingdom remain in custody, while the woman was released, Greater Manchester Police said on Thursday.

The bomber's father, Ramadan Abedi, and another sibling are now in the hands of authorities in Libya. It also said he passed through Duesseldorf airport four days before the concert attack.

Britain's official threat level was raised to the highest level, or "critical" following the Manchester attack, with armed troops deployed to guard landmarks.

USA pop star Ariana Grande said on Friday that she will hold a benefit concert in Manchester for the victims of Monday's suicide bombing at her show in the English city.

On Thursday at 11 a.m., many across Britain fell silent and bowed their heads for a minute in tribute to the victims of Monday night's bombing.

Braun said he will honor all of the victims by "laughing loving and living", and by living his life in full for every "wonderful innocent child whose life was taken too soon".

And the prime minister very tactfully signaled her displeasure.

Abedi's father, Ramadan, told Reuters he spoke to his son five days ago, and "everything was normal". The National Health Service said 75 people were hospitalized.
