Durant vindicates move to Warriors after fi nals victory

The Warriors, who beat Cleveland in the 2015 NBA Finals only to lose to them previous year after squandering a 3-1 series lead, went a record-setting 15-1 in the playoffs, their only loss coming in Game 4 of the best-of-seven championship.

In a tightly called Game 5 of the NBA Finals, it was a no-call involving Kevin Durant that helped the Golden State Warriors pull away from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

When Kevin Durant departed from Oklahoma City to join Golden State last summer, this was precisely why he did it, to win at the highest level, the NBA Finals.

After shooting 55.6 percent and contributing 35.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists to the five-game domination, he now has a new title.

The adorable 4-year-old daughter of Warriors star Stephen Curry, who stole the show with her press conference antics during Golden State's championship run in 2015, was back in the spotlight celebrating another championship with dad.

James scored 41 points with 13 rebounds and eight assists. "I have no reason to look back at what I could have done or what I shouldn't have done or what I could have done better for the team".

Durant said his father, brother and other family members have given him support along the way.

Hate it or love it, after falling short for almost a decade falling short and electing to trade in his Oklahoma City jersey for one of the golden variety, Kevin Durant is finally an National Basketball Association champion.

Durant did indeed join a ready-made contender by teaming up with two-time reigning league MVP Stephen Curry on a team that won it all in 2015 and were runners-up a year ago after a season in which they had a record 73 wins in 82 games.

Dismissing haters is not such a big deal to Durant as they might imagine.

What numerous bandwagon fans might not know is that the Warriors used to be the league's laughingstock for years and years.

"LeBron and Kyrie I've never seen nothing like them two before".

The four-time league MVP is now in the latter stages of his career after 14 National Basketball Association seasons - and questions are mounting over his future.

"The Warriors just put out a statement saying no decision has been made, but I talked to Draymond Green last night".

Nonetheless, trading for George could leave the Cleveland Cavaliers without LeBron James in 2018 if they don't receive a long-term commitment from PG13 prior to the trade.
