E3 2017: Ancient Egypt Is Your Sandbox In 'Assassin's Creed Origins'

The "Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle" was created with Snowdrop, a custom and intelligent engine that powers many of Ubisoft's games.

Yeah, we knew it was going to happen but it's official! In the video above, you can see the game switching between exploration and battle modes. During E3 2017, Ubisoft and Nintendo announced a partnership which will see Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Yoshi star in a game alongside four Rabbids inspired by them.

However, in an nearly XCOM-like twist, Mario and his rabbit companions will eventually switch from exploration mdoe to battle mode, where your party must use cover and a combination of arm cannons to take down other rampaging rabbids.

Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, said onstage, "It was a very exciting challenge for all our teams.I think we have done something you will love".

Every character has a "life" of its own, tending to work, worship, family, meals and other daily routines that players can take into account while on missions, an early glimpse at the game showed. For everyone else watching at home, the game will be launching on August 29, 2017, which isn't very far away.

Fans of Assassin's Creed's navy battles will love this.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle In one of the biggest surprises of Ubisoft's conference, Shigeru Miyamoto was welcomed onto the stage to show off the insane collaboration between Mario and Rabbids. These new changes bring a level of flexibility, choice and realism that previous games may have lacked. This is a new IP where you can take part in pirate style navy battles. Steep is getting an expansion this December that will feature many sports from the 2018 Winter Olympics.
