John Terry 'couldn't care less' over Chelsea send-off scrutiny

Paddy Power accepted the bets on Terry being substituted between 26:00 and 26:59 in Sunday's Premier League match, his last as a Chelsea player at Stamford Bridge.

John Terry says he "couldn't care less" about criticism of his orchestrated Stamford Bridge goodbye.

It is believed that a move overseas to China or the USA is now unlikely, and Terry will be making a straight decision between continuing to play Premier League football for a club that can offer regular game time, or retirement.

"I wanted to play 26 minutes and come off because of the shirt number".

Terry left the pitch against Sunderland in the 26th minute (as that's his shirt number and he's Chelsea's captain, leader, legend).

Omnisport understands the Football Association has asked betting companies to provide any relevant information following reports punters won money by wagering on the time of Terry's pre-planned substitution against Sunderland.

"You think of some of the managers of the past, walking into Sir Alex Ferguson's office or I played under Martin O'Neil and saying: 'what would be the possibility of having a guard of honour in the ninth minute?'".

"(There) were small celebrations after the game and rightfully so, because you work all season long to be where you want to be and lift that trophy.

Terry said in a post-match interview that the substitution was his idea, but it is understood the decision was made by Chelsea boss Antonio Conte and a group of senior players. Me and them have an unbelievable rapport - and we have for 22 years.

"Twenty-two years I've been at the club, so I honestly I couldn't care less what other people say".

"Arsenal have missed out on the Champions League for the first time in I don't know how many years, so we must prepare in the right way".

The Chelsea club captain is expected to be on the bench for the FA Cup final against Arsenal on Saturday.

"I'm very grateful to them, and it was something I will never forget".

The visibly emotional former England captain thanked owner Roman Abramovich, the supporters, his wife and children as well as staff and players in an address at the end of the game.
