Kershaw wins, Bellinger hits 2 homers as Dodgers top Indians

Bellinger hit home runs Saturday and Sunday (two) in the weekend series at Dodger Stadium and resumed his latest power surge with his 16th and 17th of the season Tuesday at Progressive Field.

"[Bellinger] was pretty good tonight", Mills said.

Miller (3-1) took the loss, his first loss in 53 appearances for Cleveland, since he was acquired in a trade from the Yankees on July 31 of previous year. From there, the Dodgers cruised.

Los Angeles Dodgers' Yasiel Puig avoids an inside pitch from Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Trevor Bauer during the fourth inning of a baseball game, Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in Cleveland.

Bellinger added a three-run drive in the ninth off Boone Logan, becoming the third rookie in Dodgers history to have four multihomer games.

After stranding two in the opening inning, Bauer allowed a leadoff single to Chris Taylor and a two-out, two-run homer to No. 9 hitter Yasiel Puig for the first runs of the game in the second.

Bauer lasted 52/3 innings, gave up two runs on six hits and three walks and struck out five.

Cleveland produced a pretty solid effort off Dodgers starter and three-time Cy Young award victor Clayton Kershaw, who was facing the Indians for the second time in his career and first since 2008. It landed 430 feet away, deep in the left-field seats.

Robertson led off the inning with a double to left field, and after moving over to third base on a groundout from Kipnis, he came in to score on an RBI single to right field from outfielder Michael Brantley.

Two innings later, a display of power from Roberto Perez the Indians haven't seen since last October. It's the first home run Miller has given up this season. Like Roberts, Kershaw is impressed by Bellinger, who is the first Dodgers player to hit two home runs in back-to-back games since Adrian Beltre did it in August of 2004. McCarthy dropped a 2-1 decision against the Nationals last time out with a run scoring on two hits and two BB in seven frames.

It doesn't happen often, but Andrew Miller allowed a run Tuesday night and it helped cost the Indians the game.

"Andrew's been so good and so flawless and to have something like that happen, I think it kind of stunned everybody to a point", said Indians bench coach Brad Mills, who filled in for manager Terry Francona during the postgame interview session after Francona left the dugout in the ninth inning with an illness.

Bauer scattered six hits and three walks over 5.2 innings of work and held the Dodgers to two earned runs.

The Indians got a run back in the third inning, which began with Robertson hitting a double into the left-field corner.

"We know he's a good pitcher, but I would expect guys are going up there grinding out at-bats", Miller said.

A Corey Kluber-Kershaw matchup would have had more intensity than the game that played out June 12. OF Joc Pederson was reinstated from the seven-day concussion disabled list and started in center field, going 0 for 4.

Brandon McCarthy makes the start on Wednesday opposite former Cy Young Award victor Corey Kluber in the second game of the first Interleague series of the season for the Dodgers.
