London Attacker Khuram Butt: An Extremist With A Friendly Family Image

All 12 of the people arrested by officers investigating the London Bridge terror attack have been released without charge, Scotland Yard said.

Khuram Shazad Butt, named Monday as one of the three London attackers, was known to Britain's MI5 intelligence service and even featured in a documentary entitled "The Jihadis Next Door". When using the Elkhdar name, Redouane also went by a different date of birth that put him at 25 years old, police said.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick said she wouldn't release further details in what she described as a fast-moving investigation.

They said of Mr Khan: "He has risen above this crisis of death and destruction, as mayors continue to do, to alleviate fear, to bring comfort to his people of London and to give support to the first responders who continue to protect, defend and provide emergency care to his people of London".

Khuram Shazad Butt (left) and Rachid Redouane were killed within minutes of Saturday's attack on London Bridge, British detectives say.

Police officers stand on duty by a cordon near to Borough Market in London on Monday following a deadly Saturday-night attack. The three assailants were shot dead by police.

The Islamic State, or ISIS, said it was responsible for the vehicle and knife assault, but that claim has not been substantiated.

He had also been reported to anti-terrorism police on at least two occasions, including once by a former friend who said he had become radicalised watching videos on YouTube.

An online CV seen by the BBC shows that he got an NVQ Level 2 In business administration and went on to work in an administrative role for a company called Auriga Holdings based in East Ham which manages Kentucky Fried Chicken outlets.

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said Theresa May had been "extremely helpful and accommodating" at keeping policing numbers high when he was in City Hall but it was matter for the London Mayor to decide. During the attack, seven people were killed and dozens more were wounded.

"I wanted to come here to feel solidarity and to express something about togetherness", said Georgina Hicks, a local resident.

Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau has issued a statement regarding the attacks, "Canada strongly condemns the senseless attack that took place last night in London, United Kingdom, which killed and injured many innocent people. Volunteer your time and labour or donate to a homeless shelter", they said.

A Khan spokesman replied: "He has more important things to do than respond to Donald Trump's ill-informed tweet that deliberately takes out of context his remarks urging Londoners not to be alarmed when they saw more police - including armed officers - on the streets".

The attackers wore what appeared to be suicide belts, authorities said. There are many things about which Donald TrumpDonald TrumpLondon mayor calls for cancellation of Trump visit to UK Dan Rather: "Trump's response to London attack "careless" Qatar split raises problems for USA with Iran, ISIS MORE is wrong".

The latest attack comes against the backdrop of parliamentary elections later in the week.

Meanwhile, over 130 Imams & religious leaders from diverse backgrounds refuse to perform the funeral prayer for London attackers in an unprecedented move.
