Microsoft Reveals Its Project Scorpio Is 'Xbox One X' At E3 2017

The new game console has been priced at $499.

Xbox head Phil Spencer revealed the specs, price, and name of the system-which had been referred to as Project Scorpio-at a briefing held at the Galen Centre in Los Angeles on Sunday (June 11).

The Xbox One X is the "smallest Xbox ever", according to Microsoft but, for the most part, boasts a similar design to the Xbox One S, which was released in August 2016.

The most powerful game console will cost $600 in Canada on November 7 when the Xbox One X is released worldwide. They proved that the Xbox One X is a substantial leap over the PlayStation 4 Pro. When Geoff asked about the frame rate for Xbox One X to confirm whether this resolution allows them improved frame rate on the Xbox One X, Julien didn't reveal their target frame rate but promised that they are aiming to deliver the best experience possible on each platform. Instead of playing games, USA owners of both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 spend roughly half their console-using time doing things that don't require a super-charged game machine, such as streaming video and watching movies on disc, according to a recent report from Nielsen that's charted here by Statista. The Xbox One X will also be available with an Ultra HD Blu-ray drive for 4K movies, and 1TB of storage. The tech company is using a custom GPU engine on Xbox One X that runs at 1172MHz, a huge boost over the 853MHz of Xbox One and even the 911MHz on Sony's PS4 Pro.

Nevertheless, while 4K might be the attraction for Xbox One X, chances are the device might not work out as the company has indicated. First-party games like Forza Motorsport 7 were obviously showcases of 4K 60 FPS but the fact that so many other titles run at 4K-not upscaled 1440p-is exactly what Microsoft needed.
