Nadal to miss Queen's Club tournament to rest

Fifteen-time Grand Slam Champion Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the Aegon Championships at Queen's, which starts next Monday, after being advised to rest by his doctor. We'll all be playing our best tennis. These two weeks have been a great level of tennis, is true.

The Spaniard is the first man to reach double figures at a single slam and, if he continues to play like this, then Margaret Court's all-time record of 11 titles, set at the Australian Open, looks certain to fall.

However, Nadal did play down his chances of triumphing at the All England Club by suggesting much would depend on how his knees would respond to playing on grass, with more questions now raised over his fitness for the third Grand Slam of the year by his Queen's pullout.

Murray has quickly put behind him the disappointment of missing out on a place in the French Open final - having come within four points of victory over Stan Wawrinka in Friday's semi-final - turning... I think since the beginning of the year, you can see he's playing more aggressive, staying more close from the line.

"It's really incredible. To win La Decima is very, very special", said Nadal.

Roger Federer, who returns to action Wednesday in the Mercedes Open, has revealed that he was rooting for old foe Rafael Nadal to "dominate the clay-court season like the olden days" while taking his two-month hiatus from the sport.

"Clearly, past year was very good for him, especially during the first half of 2016". If I have pain in the knees, then I know from experience that it's nearly impossible.

Nadal won all seven of his French Open matches in straight sets, dropping just 35 games overall.

"I have doubts every day but that's good as it makes me work hard with more intensity", he said.

Since winning his maiden Roland Garros title on his debut in 2005, Nadal has only failed to take home the trophy on three occasions - in 2009 when he lost to Robin Soderling, in 2015 when he was beaten by Novak Djokovic and past year when he had to pull out because of a wrist injury.
