Preds even Stanley Cup Final at 2-2, beat Penguins, 4-1

This Stanley Cup Finals series is definitely a home series, thus far. The Penguins need to win more one-on-one battles along the boards while somehow preventing the Predators from using their speed to rush the crease. Nashville is near unbeatable at home in the playoffs with a 9-1 record. Every single bar within a stone throw from the venue was packed, the streets were packed and even some fans were smashing things with the Pittsburgh logo on it, the best part is this all started at 9:30 in the morning, I guess happy hour has changed thanks to the city of Nashville.

Amusing thing about the Penguins blowing a two-game lead to the Predators in Nashville: They have never sounded more confident.

His note asks the employer to overlook the employee's lateness because "he/she is an avid Predators fan and was busy rooting the Predators on to victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night". "You don't know what to expect, you just come in and play hockey".

And then there was the prettiest play of the night: Mike Fisher's one-handed pass to spring Viktor Arvidsson for the second-period breakaway goal that increased Nashville's lead to 3-1. They hung around the net, and made Matt Murray's life chaotic.

Pittsburgh, which scored more goals and peppered more shots than any other team in hockey this season, did generate some of their best looks in Game 4 - a result of their players slipping behind the Nashville defence, according to Laviolette.

To his point, three missed the net, another three were blocked and only two found their way to Pekka Rinne - both of which were stopped. Rinne's circus-like saves certainly pumped up the sellout crowd, and showed why his performance in between the pipes is vital to Nashville's success. They should be especially pleased as the series shifts back to PPG Paints Arena, now that Rinne is once again playing like a world-class goaltender. If there is another goalie out there who can do that, it is not certain who it would be.

Nashville knows whom their guy is and is showing it in spectacular fashion. They also have killed 24 of 25 penalties in the Stanley Cup Final.

Now the Virginia native and former Moorhead (Minn.) High School and St. Cloud State star is two wins from helping the Penguins become the first team in 19 years to repeat as Stanley Cup champs. Not without a fight, that is.

Nineteen different players have scored at least one for the Preds in the playoffs, 14 have at least two, and 11 have at least one game-winning goal. It nearly always gives the victor of Game 5 a distinct advantage.

"Help us secure our home-ice advantage and prevent us from being penalized for unnecessary reasons".

Maybe it's fitting considering the 19-season journey they've taken to get to this point.

"These games, they're a lot closer", Sullivan said after Game 4 in Nashville. Will the Predators continue with their unbelievable energy to take it to the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Thursday night? Matt Murray was supposed to be the goalie of the future for the Penguins last season when an injury to Marc-Andre Fleury on the eve of the playoffs made him very much the goalie of the present.

For the second (official) time in the series, Nashville opened the scoring. Naturally, they were absolutely euphoric over the win. He understands. When he came into the Anaheim series, we were having trouble in the faceoff circle and he was 70 percent that first game, he was unbelievable.
