President Trump Again Blasts London Mayor Following Terror Attack

Trump's tweet renews his mischaracterization of Khan's statement to London residents following a vehicle and knife attack that left seven people dead and dozens injured.

Earlier the Mayor condemned the "deliberate and cowardly" attack and said: "Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days".

Federal courts are still debating over Trump administration's travel ban on whether it fulfils constitutional criteria but Trump has sought permission from the Supreme Court to enforce the administration's proposal to temporarily ban people from six Muslim-majority countries fron entering the U.S.

But British Prime Minister Theresa May said Khan was doing a "good job", echoing public sentiment across London.

"I think Donald Trump is wrong in what he said about Sadiq Khan in the aftermath of the London Bridge attack", May said at a press conference on the campaign trail ahead of Thursday's election.

Khan's spokesman said he was too busy to respond to Mr. Trump's "ill-informed" tweet. Trump later challenged Khan to an IQ test during an interview on ITV.

"We are not going to let Donald Trump divide our communities", Khan told the BBC.

"I just haven't got time to respond to tweets from Donald Trump. No reason to be alarmed", was the full statement.

Conway disputed the notion that Trump's tweets represented his most relevant remarks on the subject of the weekend's attacks in London.

Mrs May initially sidestepped questions about Mr Trump by choosing to praise Mr Khan's response.

Appearing on Channel 4 News, Mr Khan said Mr Trump was wrong about "many things" and that his state visit should not go ahead.

The three suspects were shot dead by police officers within minutes after they drove a van into pedestrians on the bridge and then stormed pubs and restaurants, stabbing anyone in their path. She also pushed back against criticism that the president had mischaracterized Khan's remarks, saying "the media wants to spin it that way".

"I've been doing far more important things over the last 24 hours", he says. "MSM [mainstream media] working hard to sell it!"

Khan hits back later when asked by Britain's Channel 4 News if he thought Trump's state visit to the United Kingdom should be called off.

Trump Jr. wrote "You have got to be kidding me?!" above a link to an article reporting comments Khan had made months earlier.
