In a statement issued by WAM, The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said that it is fully committed to the Chicago convention, but the state reserves the sovereign right under global law to take any precautionary measures to protect its national security if necessary.

UAE Foreign Minister Anwar Gargash said in a recent interview that "there is nothing to negotiate" with Qatar.

Amid the blockade by Gulf Arab neighbours, Qatar is slowly entering into a crisis situation.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi also criticised the measures imposed on Qatar, saying in Baghdad on Tuesday they were hurting the emirate's people, not its rulers. Qatar hosts the Middle East headquarters for US air forces; Bahrain hosts the main base for the US Navy.

Saudi Arabia's foreign minister, talking to reporters during a news conference in Washington on Tuesday with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, said Riyadh was ready to send food and medical supplies to Qatar. "We wish her the best as she moves on from the Department of State".

Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed hopes for a swift resolution of the crisis engulfing the energy-rich nation of Qatar.

"Qatar has been an impartial diplomatic mediator in resolving crises and disputes between brotherly and friendly countries and will continue to be a major player in the global community", the ministry said in a statement.

There has been no breakthrough in Kuwaiti efforts to mediate in the crisis, but a US official in the region said Kuwait was continuing with what is seen as a "slow, painstaking, deliberate" process focused inside the Gulf Cooperation Council.

During the visit, he is expected to meet his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and the country's Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Anadolu Agency reported.

Saudi Arabia's King Salman has spoken to Russian President Vladimir Putin just days after Qatar's foreign minister was in Moscow to discuss the crisis in Gulf ties.

Saudi Arabia and its allies severed diplomatic and economic ties with Qatar earlier this month, after accusing it of supporting terrorist groups, a charge denied by Doha. The move was seen as support by regional power and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation member Turkey to Doha.

US President Donald Trump has signalled his support for the Saudi-led move but other US officials have been more cautious and called for dialogue to end the crisis. The Kremlin said that the row was not helping to unite efforts to try to find a Syria settlement or fight terrorism.
