Sara Zelenak Confirmed As Dead In London Bridge Terror Attack

Police have recovered a body from the River Thames in their search for French national Xavier Thomas, who has been missing since the London Bridge terror attack on Saturday.

Thomas, a French tourist to Britain, was found on Tuesday night in the water near Limehouse, East London by the Metropolitan Police, a spokesman for the police said Wednesday.

Scotland Yard said the 29-year-old man was arrested after police stormed a home in Newham just after 1.15am.

Two men are now in custody on suspicion of violating the Terrorism Act.

Security source says Khuram Butt was well known to police.

Within minutes, the attackers are shot dead and another police vehicle arrives as people are seen running for their lives. As many as seven people were killed and 48 others were injured.

Eight people were killed and dozens injured when three terrorists drove a van into pedestrians on London Bridge before stabbing people in the area Saturday night.

British officials haven't been able to confirm whether the three attackers acted alone in Saturday's attack, but the Islamic State claims it was involved.

Thirteen others - believed to have been involved in the incident as well - were arrested, but 12 of the 13 have been released since then.

The police has since tried to defend itself against criticism over the authorities downgrading an inquiry into Butt, one of the attackers.

Counter terrorism officers, backed up by armed colleagues, arrested two men on the street in Ilford, east London, late on Wednesday, while a third was arrested at a house nearby, police said in a statement.

Butt, 27, was a British citizen born in Pakistan.

The report said Italy had put him on a watch list and flagged his presence to Moroccan and British authorities.

The Metropolitan Police said they had reviewed security ahead of the vote, putting in place a "specialist and highly flexible operation" which can be deployed as needed.

Another attacker, Rachid Redouane, was not known to police.

Spanish authorities have said Ignacio Echeverria, a 39-year-old banking analyst who fought off terrorists with his skateboard, was also murdered.
