Suspected North Korea drone filmed missile defence site: Seoul

The South Korean military said the drone that crash landed in a remote mountain region last Thursday had taken more than 10 photographs of the THAAD site, a former golf course in central Korea, News 1 reported.

A possible North Korean drone took numerous photos of a new USA missile defense site located in South Korea before crashing near the demilitarized zone between the two countries, the Associated Press reported Tuesday.

A North Korean soldier walked across the world's most heavily guarded border into South Korea late Tuesday, according to the South's military.

The drone is now suspected to belong to North Korea.

The South Korean president told Mr Infantino: "If neighbouring Northeast Asian countries, including South and North Korea, can host the World Cup, I think that would contribute to peace between South and North Korea and in the Northeast Asian region".

While Moon has said he would be willing to visit Pyongyang and meet with Kim Jong Un, last week North Korea rejected an offer by a South Korean civic group to provide anti-malaria supplies, the first cross-border exchange approved by Seoul since January 2016.

"We will come up with measures to deal with North Korean drones", said an official at South Korea's Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who also declined to be identified as he is not authorized to speak to the media.

Two anti-missile installments have already been installed, put in place in the middle of the night on a golf course 135 miles from Seoul despite protests by thousands of South Koreans over THAAD itself and U.S. militarism on the Korean Peninsula.

China and Russian Federation assert that the U.S.is using the North Korean threat as an excuse to expand its ballistic missile defense in the area, crippling the nuclear deterrence capabilities of these two countries.

After a joint investigation with U.S. experts, Seoul said they were flown from North Korea and had been pre-programmed to fly over South Korean military installations.

Remember a few years back when British comedian Simon Brodkin threw a stack of cash towards Sepp Blatter, claiming to represent North Korea's bid for a World Cup?

"The summit holds extra significance as it comes at a time when a close and firm South Korea-U.S. alliance is particularly important".

"North Korea's continued pursuit of nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them has increased in pace and scope", Mattis said yesterday.

Moon added, "It would not be impossible for South Korea and Japan to build a future-oriented relationship". North Korea has qualified for the World Cup more times than China, a country with a population 54 times larger, while South Korea's national football team is the most successful in Asia.
