Tearful Kathy Griffin says she won't stop criticizing Donald Trump

At a rambling press conference on Friday, Griffin tearfully predicted her career was over and said Mr Trump "broke me".

Ever since she was contacted by the U.S. Secret Service about the matter, Griffin has retained a lawyer as her defense.

Kathy Griffin is speaking out in much more detail about her recent controversy involving President Donald Trump, and this time she is revealing how Trump and his family are trying to destroy her life and career.

"I made a disgusting, terrible mistake and I made a awful call", the comedian said at a press conference on Friday.

The outcry against the comedian continues to grow with at least four venues announcing that they had canceled her performances.

The 56-year-old actress faced a lot of backlash on social media after she shared the picture, which was a part of her photoshoot with famed photographer Tyler Shields, on Twitter.

Kathy Griffin is planning a Friday morning press conference to address "the true motivation" behind a controversial video released earlier this week.

Trump said in tweet about the image that "Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself".

Franken added, "After hearing from many Minnesotans who were rightfully offended, I've come to the conclusion that it would be best for her not to participate in the event we had previously scheduled. Forever. You guys know him - he's never going to stop".

Ms Bloom said the comedian had a First Amendment right to make fun of the president.

The backlash to the photo has been sexist, both women argued, pointing to male artists like Marilyn Manson who've gotten away with similar stunts.

The California Republican Party is soliciting donations based on images of Kathy Griffin posing with the likeness of President Donald Trump's bloody, severed head.

President Trump tweeted that the image was upsetting his children, specifically his 11-year-old son Barron, and Melania said it was "very disturbing", calling into question Griffin's mental state. "I'm under a Secret Service investigation, and I get what I am".

With tears flowing, Griffin added, "And then I was like, this isn't right!"
