Tiger Woods to return to rehab after DUI arrest

Weeks after Tiger Woods was arrested for driving under the influence after he took a risky mixture of prescription drugs, the golfer is reportedly heading to rehab.

The troubled golf great recently reserved the entire male inpatient unit of the Jupiter Medical Center near his Florida home to begin a stint for an addiction to prescription pills, according to reports.

Woods was discovered asleep behind the wheel of his damaged 2015 Mercedes-Benz near his Jupiter home around three in the morning on May 29, 2017.

Woods, who had undergone his fourth back surgery in April, said he had not had anything to drink that night but did take prescribed medications including Vicodin, police wrote in their report.

Woods now has joint custody over his two children and this could be an attempt to keep the status quo.

This would not be the first time the 14-time major victor has entered rehab.

Woods said later in an official statement to reporters that he had had an "unexpected reaction" to the drugs.

In 2010, following his much publicised break-up with wife Elin Nordegren, Woods went to rehab for his sex and painkiller addiction.

Woods' last known visit to Central New York was in 2015 for the Notah Begay Challenge. "I didn't realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly".

Woods' claim was revealed in an unredacted version of the Jupiter Police Department's investigation report obtained Friday by the Golf Channel. An FDA warning notes that when you combine Xanax with an opioid like Vicodin, the results may include profound sedation, respiratory depression, and even coma and death. Woods did not play in the tournament but was at the resort for the event.
