Trump Tantrums Over His Failing Presidency And Demands Republicans Kill The Filibuster

The Senate budget approved earlier this month would raise the deduction even higher, but also cut individual income tax rates. "Dems would do it, no doubt!"

Press secretary Sean Spicer expanded on the tweet Tuesday afternoon, saying Trump has had "long-standing" concerns and "frustration" with the pace of the Senate and wants to see "action". Senate Republicans, including Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) have said they have no intention of ending the filibuster on legislation.

There might be an attempt to add more money into the Senate bill during debate, but moderate Republicans and Democrats are pessimistic about the chances.

Senators say they're writing their own bill.

The Senate, however, has invoked the so-called "nuclear option" in the past to get certain nominations - most recently of note Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch - through the Senate by a simple majority vote, but there is now no method for doing so with legislation.

"The Senate bill could be so radically different than the House bill that they have to pay for it", said Stan Collender, executive vice president at Qorvis MSLGroup and a former congressional budget aide. "ObamaCare is dead - the Republicans will do much better!"

The GOP plan now rests on a repeal of the 2010 Affordable Care Act, and much of the spending associated with it, and a new set of provisions offering financial assistance and incentives for people to obtain health coverage.

Facing solid Democratic opposition to demolishing former President Barack Obama's 2010 overhaul, Republicans will lose if just three of their 52 senators defect.

US intelligence officials have said that Moscow tried to interfere with the 2016 presidential election by hacking Democratic emails - Trump has expressed that it's simply an excuse for Hillary Clinton supporters.
