WWDC 2017: What to expect from Apple's big developer event keynote

At a time when the voice and virtual assistant war is heating up, Apple has some catching up to do with Google Assistant, now on several high-end phones and Google Home products, and with Amazon's Alexa and Echo speaker, which has a head-start.

Along with the iOS, the mac OS, the watch OS and also the TV OS may all get refreshed and one can expect that the company will share with the developers, the new ideas it has developed for these operating systems. We have not heard to much when it comes to leaks.

Apple WWDC 2017: What time is the keynote event and where is it taking place? But Apple will likely introduce some new features for Watch users and developers.

The Apple AR glasses, termed Apple Smart Glasses, have been tipped to come with "Kopin NED Acetate frame, Polarisized or prescription lens with Zeiss smart optics, Bone induction modules Microphones (noise cancellation), Light sensor Accelerometer for step tracking and head movement, app navigation Magnetometer for navigation, Capacitive Pavel Ceramic battery, Apple chipset, Charging circuit BL5 Induction module". New MacBooks, however, are expected to show up. Apple will upgrade the MacBook Pro with a new Intel Kaby Lake processor, the 12-inch MacBook will sport a faster processor as well, and there's a chance the 13-inch MacBook Air could also be upgraded to get a new generation processor. The rumoured Siri speaker, which is projected to go toe-to-toe with the Amazon Echo, is also set to debut at the event. Though Apple TV, as a device, is positioned for entertainment and even gaming, a full-fledged streaming service is becoming a must-right now, apps such as Netflix are ruling on Apple's own turf. With regards to subscriptions Apple also announced that it would be reducing its cut to 15% from 30% if the subscriber maintained their subscription for more than one year. It is also being said that Apple Speaker would be listening anytime round the clock, thus being omnipresent in the home.

According to a Bloomberg report, Apple will launch three new laptops at the keynote. When Apple updated the MacBooks late past year, it packed in the 6th generation Intel processors. The iPad Pro is now in a 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch form factor, too small and too big for some. It's rare but not entirely unheard of for Apple to announce products months before it's ready to ship them, but for a product like this, a WWDC reveal makes sense.

Those who are longing for new Apple desktops will have to wait a little longer as there is no buzz regarding a fresh batch of all-in-ones.
