'13 Reasons Why' Season 2 Shuts Down Production Due to California Wildfires

While firefighters have now surrounded half of the fire, with full containment expected this weekend, the production will remain on hiatus through Thursday, per Deadline. Many members of the cast and crew who now live in the region during filming have been flown home as a courtesy.

More than 20 wild fires, due to dry conditions and Santa Ana winds, have destroyed areas in north California, with the wine district being the worst hit.

According to local officials, many people are still missing and some areas remain out of reach for emergency services, so the number of victims can further increase, The New York Times reported late Tuesday. There are more people there in need of help than can even be expressed in words. The breakout drama, from Paramount TV, films in Vallejo in the Northern California area that has been ravaged by wildfires. "Sending love and thoughts to everyone involved", wrote Minnette.

Several of the cast members have spoken out about the devastating wildfires. "My heart goes out to all affected by these very bad fires", Devin Druid wrote.

There's a crisis behind the camera on 13 Reasons Why. The highly divisive series tells the story of a high school student named Hannah (played by Katherine Langford) who commits suicide during her junior year.
