David Blaine accused of raping model in London in 2004

United States illusionist David Blaine is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police over an alleged rape of a British former model in 2004.

Scotland Yard Police confirmed they were "investigating an allegation of rape" that was reported to police on 17 November 2016.

Police said that no arrests have been made at this stage, and declined to confirm the name of the person under investigation.

Amidst the news about Harvey Weinstein's sexual harassment cases, a former model comes out to accuse #David Blaine of molestation.

Ms Prince said she went to work the next day as usual but the impact of the encounter hit home a month later.

Blaine's attorney Marty Singer denied the allegations, telling the outlet, 'My client vehemently denies that he raped or sexually assaulted any woman, ever, and he specifically denies raping a woman in 2004, ' the statement said.

She said he texted her the following evening, inviting her to meet him for drinks at a friend's house.

"He spun around quite quickly and said, "Kiss me.' I did kiss him". The last thing she remembers is Blaine telling her to "finish her drink". Natasha claimed when she awoke the lights were on and she was lying down naked with no recollection of what had happened.

She goes on to say she was raped and woke up with no clothes on. She can not remember what he exactly told her, but she recalled that he was giving her a lot of attention. The lawyer added that his client would abide by the police investigation no matter the cost because he "has nothing to hide".

According to emails shared by Prince, the authorities have reached out to Blaine in hopes to conduct an "interview under caution" in the UK.

"You have to understand, my interpretation was that it was my fault", she said.

Scotland Yard, the headquarters of police in London, has reportedly contacted Blaine to come in for questioning.

Prince's allegations and the police investigation are becoming public knowledge in a time where scores of powerful men are being publicly revealed as sexual predators and abusers, with now Hollywood reeling from the fallout of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.
