Iran stunned Germany 4-0 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, to qualify for the knockout round of the U-17 World Cup on Tuesday.

Despite coming up against one of Europe's top sides, the Iranian youth were not overawed by the occasion and dominated the German side that looked out of sorts.

Younes Delfi opened the scoring for the Iranian team in the 6th minute and extended Iran's lead in the 42nd minute. They are also mentally a very good team.

Had goalkeeper Luca Plogmann not made several important saves, Iran may have been out of sight before half-time at Goa.

Iran's young players delivered a superb performance that will be remembered for long. However, from the two, Brazil will be playing their first match of the tournament in Goa and like Iran may be wanting to prove that many of their boys - who were part of the team that played at the BRICS tournament last year- have matured and assimilated the finer points of football in the year gone by. "But right now, we are over it and everyone is looking forward to the Guinea match", German coach Christian Wuck told media after the session.

"Germany is always a tough opponent for any team in the world".

Day five of FIFA Under-17 World Cup brings to us the action from Group C and D. In Group C Costa Rica will take on Guinea and Iran will face Germany.

According to the Newspaper, They are now in danger of exiting at the group stage itself, unless they can manage a point against unpredictable Guinea in Kochi later this week. So, how did it all go south for Germany?

In other contest, Germany will start as favourites when they take on Asian heavyweights Iran in a Group C. Both the teams registered opening victories with Germany getting past Costa Rica 2-1 and Iran beating Guinea 3-1.
