Neville on verge of quitting after walking out on RAW

Neville on verge of quitting after walking out on RAW

The top story in pro wrestling this week has largely revolved around the alleged real-life departure of Neville from Raw on Monday night.

Neville could slot into any promotion in the world without looking out of place, and the global talent pool's staggering depth means there's no shortage of potentially great matches, wherever he lands. After dropping the title to Enzo at No Mercy, he forfeited a title match and attacked Amore on one episode of Raw.

Neville and WWE are going through a divorce, and soon, the former Cruiserweight Champion will be cast adrift.

Neville, a two-time Cruiserweight Champion and known as the King of the Cruiserweights, was last seen facing off against Ariya Daivari in the September 26 episode of the WWE Network exclusive show, 205 Live.

Plans then shifted to a non-title match, but after finding out Neville wouldn't be on Raw, the decision was made to put the title on Kalisto and tie his championship win to the birthday of the late Eddie Guerrero.

Reports stated that although The King of the Cruiserweights didn't appear on RAW, there was a whole list of reasons why he walked out as he had been unhappy for a while. It was one of the best matches of the night and it was a odd call to leave the match off both for the wrestlers and also for fans who deserve to have the entire show on the DVD. They also noted that there was talk of doing the non-title match after it was mentioned that Neville couldn't receive a title shot due to the non-contact stipulation from the week before. However, WWE denied the rumors and announced that Neville isn't quitting the business. WrestleMania is always among the top-selling WWE DVD's of the year.

The problem came about at an inopportune time for WWE as they were just starting to gain some momentum when it comes to 205 Live and Neville was a key part of that.

This report debunks some rumors & clarifies others.
