Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Black Friday and Cyber Monday

Still, by some estimates the number of shoppers who went online to make purchases a year ago was larger than the number who went to stores and bought items in person. While there is somewhat of an argument to be made, the real argument against leaving Thanksgiving dinner and shopping for the next twelve or so hours is fairly obvious.

Their "Countdown to Black Friday Week Sale" is now live, but not everything is currently available.

Online sales comprised 9.4 percent of total retail sales in the fourth quarter of 2016, up from 8.7 percent during the same three-month period the previous year, according to government figures. Lives are put in danger just because people feel the need to rush and trample over whomever stands in their way to grab hold of a product at a discount that they may not even need.

Hours: Store hours still haven't been posted for Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.

While many consumers will take advantage of deals over Thanksgiving weekend, 31% will refrain from shopping that weekend.

Target isn't the only retailer leaking its Black Friday deals and hours.

But not to be outdone, Argos has announced it'll be adding more offers on top of the ones the retailer has already announced. But don't let all the Black Friday hype fool you.

Retailers are adapting to customer tendencies by emphasizing their online presences as well. If you don't secure a spot at the front of the line or log online the moment a sale starts, you could miss your shot at these big deals.

As for the deals themselves, a little research can go a long way. "This still allows those doorbuster deals on Thanksgiving Day and/or those Black Friday deals on Black Friday morning without having to wake up at midnight or 1 a.m. on Black Friday or interrupting your dinner on Thanksgiving Day". Only rookies head out on Black Friday unprepared.

Adults 45 and older prefer Monday's online shopping experience during the holiday season, the poll showed.

Of those shopping, about 20 percent plan to shop on Thanksgiving Day, 70 percent plan to shop on Black Friday, and 48 percent are expected to shop on Cyber Monday. But, there are plenty of ways to indulge in the deals without subjecting your family to the headaches of a Black Friday spent in overcrowded department stores.
