Chidambaram slams BJP leaders for their remarks

An Indian minister's comment that life-threatening illnesses, such as cancer, are "divine justice" has prompted backlash in the country, Times of India reported on Thursday. Attacking the comments of Assam Health Minister, the former Union Minister P. Chidambaram said " it is what switching parties does to a person. If you observe their background you will come to know that it's divine justice. "Nothing else. We have to suffer that divine justice", Sarma said. Maybe the son hasn't committed a sin but the father has, the divine justice will always catch up to you.

Congress leader P Chidambaram took a dig at Sarma on Wednesday and even mocked at his decision to switch parties. "Simply I said that Hinduism believe in karmic law and human sufferings are linked to karmic deficiency of past life.Don't you belief that too?Of course in your party I do not know whether Hindu philosophy can be discussed at all".

AIUDF leader Aminul Islam said that the health minister made this remark to cover his failure to control the spread of cancer in the state.

"Do not belittle Hindu philosophy in such simplistic way".

Not just politicians, Biswa was slammed by Twitterati for his remarks and said, "Karma will decide everything".

Sarma, responding to journalists including Rajdeep Sardesai on Twitter, said repeatedly that he had been quoting the Bhagvad Gita. "You cannot written of teachings of Bhagavadgita by using the word pumpkin of the day etc".

"Go through my speech".

Adding to this he said, "Should I deserve this tweet for quoting Bhagavadgita before a new batch of teachers and asking them to teach poor students sincerely". No point in being sad... everyone will face the outcome of this life's actions in this life only. You and I are no different from cancer victims.

The minister even tried too hard to convince that his speech was distorted as he meant to "motivate teachers". I don't think it is a matter to be made into a controversy. Only availing a huge opportunity to speak little bit about Hindu philosophy.
