Legends Raise Over $70k For Hero Cyclist Fired After Flipping Off Trump

A woman who says she was sacked from her job after being photographed giving the finger to President Donald Trump's motorcade is receiving an unexpected severance pay, thanks to thousands of online supporters.

Over 3,000 donations, ranging from $5 to $250 have rolled in over the past week.

Briskman told the HuffPost shortly after the incident that when she saw the president's motorcade as he left a golf course in Sterling, Va., that her "blood just started to boil".

Although Briskman's gesture went viral and made her something of a hero to Trump-haters, her employer was not amused.

In a Saturday interview with HuffPost, Briskman, a 50-year-old mother of two, said she was stunned that someone had taken a picture of her giving Trump the middle finger.

"Juli Briskman is an inspiration to us all", wrote Rob Mello, who created the GoFundMe campaign that lists Briskman as a beneficiary.

In last one week, the campaign has raised more than $ 70,000 and says it aims to raise a total of $100,000 for Briskman.

Recalling the unlikely furore which took place on her standard cycling route, the mother of two said she became incensed when she set eyes on the USA president's motorcade coming up beside her. Porn company xHamster put an open offer on Twitter for her to join their marketing and social media team, following the long tradition of adult entertainment companies trying to catch a ride on pop culture events.

"Basically, you can not have "lewd" or "obscene" things in your social media. So they were calling flipping him off 'obscene'".

She added: "Only one third of Puerto Rico has power. I'm thinking, he's at the damn golf course again". They told her that because Akima was a government contractor, the photo could hurt their business, she said.

"In some ways, I'm doing better than ever", she said.
