Richard Sherman out for the season after suffering torn Achilles vs. Cardinals

The leader of the Legion of Boom looks as if he could have tore his achilles, according to observations of Sherman's conversation with Bobby Wagner after he went down from Mike Garafolo, and that may not be a good sign for the Seahawks if it is true.

After the game, Wilson was asked what happened on the play.

The Seattle Seahawks knocked off the Arizona Cardinals Thursday night to improve to 6-3 on the season and keep pressure on the Rams in the NFC West. Referee Walt Anderson instructed Wilson to go get evaluated on the sideline and the quarterback obliged, strolling into the blue medical tent. Under the protocol, a player can not return to practice or a game until he is approved to do so by the team doctor and an independent neurologist.

"I knew what was happening", he said.

Going into the game, Sherman had been listed on the Seahawks' injury report with an Achilles ailment, and after Seattle's win, he said he felt pretty confident that his Achilles was going to pop at some point this season. "I think I was laying down on the ground for a second just trying to get my jaw". I told him I was good, I was good, and he said, 'Come off the field'. "There's no coming back from that until you get surgery". I think Walt thought maybe I was injured or something like that. He made the smartest decision - I was fine, though. "I wasn't concussed or anything like that". A hundred percent fine. "We went through every question you could imagine, and I answered even some more for them just so they knew I was good, and then went back in there".

Perhaps the league is reviewing the procedure because the replays shown on the NBC broadcast didn't necessarily reflect Wilson's recollection of the situation. "So it's one of them things you just have to play through as long as you can but when it goes, it goes", he added. "Teams can be fined if the league finds they did not follow protocol created to ensure medical clearance before any player returns to the field".
