Sri Sri Ravi Shankar meets Yogi Adityanath to discuss Ayodhya issue

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday criticised All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi over his statement against Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, saying that making sarcastic comments and questioning the integrity of a person were not justified.

S. Prakash further said Owaisi had no role to play in the Ayodhya dispute, which he should understand. Thirteen different appeals have been filed against Allahabad high court verdict that divided the 2.73 acres disputed land into three parts among Ram Lalla, Sunni Waqf Board, and Nirmohi Akhara. It will then be presented in Supreme Court as UP Shia Central Waqf Board's stance when the day-to-day hearing of the case begins on December 5. "He (Sri Sri Ravi Shankar) should not indulge in any kite flying".

The spiritual leader on Wednesday arrived in Lucknow and met the CM for about 40 minutes.

On whether the Babri Masjid Action Committee had rejected his proposal, Ravishankar said that none of the parties had sent him any proposal and so there was no question of rejection.

"Lord Rama is the matter of faith for crores of Hindus.the idol is installed at his birthplace and puja is continuously going on.no power can shift it anywhere else", he said, adding that the matter of the Ram Janmbhoomi temple will be discussed in the 15th "Dharam Sansad" in Karnataka between November 24 to 26. "We are ready to build a mosque nearby or any other place of their choice", said Amar Nath Mishra, a senior VHP leader.

Welcoming the statement of the Shia Personal Law Board, Owaisi tweeted, "Ulti hogayee sab tadbeeran".

"He is only providing a platform to representatives from both communities to hold talks and resolve the Ayodhya imbroglio out court", clarified the Spokesperson. Sri Sri would meet all stakeholders with a compromising formula to resolve the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid matter during his visit to the city. He said that during Chandrashekhar Singh's regime a similar effort was made to solve the long due dispute.
