Alec Baldwin Defends Comments About Sexual Harassment Accusers on 'Megyn Kelly Today'

On Wednesday, Baldwin chided late night hosts John Oliver and Stephen Colbert - of Last Week With John Oliver and Late Night with Stephen Colbert, respectively - of turning their programs into "grand juries".

The Emmy-winning actor sat down on "Megyn Kelly Today" on Thursday morning, and when the conversation turned to sexual misconduct he shared that only some harassers needed to be punished.

Kelly questioned if he was referring to the accusations against Dustin Hoffman after John Oliver grilled the "Wag the Dog" star over the claims during an interview at the 92Y on Monday.

Alec Baldwin, seen here on November 7, 2017, said questioning from some late-night talk show hosts may hurt innocent people. "But I don't want to see innocent people get hurt, either".

Baldwin wrote on Twitter, "Talk shows were once promotional pit stops for some blithe chit chat about movies, etc".

Oliver has been in the news this week for questioning actor Dustin Hoffman about a woman who has accused him of sexually harassing her on the set of "Death of a Salesman" in the 1980s.

Alec Baldwin gave his opinion on the recent slew of sexual assault allegations spreading through Hollywood and beyond, and some of Tinseltown's funnymen won't like what he has to say.

Kelly chimed in to say women were in submissive positions years ago. While many perpetrators have admitted their guilt, Baldwin said there are innocents who stand accused of sexual impropriety.

"They think that those hosts of those shows are perfectly, not only within their rights, but it's very attractive or very necessary for them to be pressing this cause".

Baldwin told Kelly that he stands by his tweet and added that he doesn't want to "see people who are innocent get into trouble". "Where we live now is that are a lot of things you just don't do anymore".

He said, "Anybody who's guilty of this predatory behavior, men that I know... we don't understand men who want a woman, her tears streaming down her face and she's begging you not to do the thing you're going to do, and most men that I know say, 'What's with that?'"

"We need to have more understanding of how we treat people", he explained.
