Anchor claps back at viewer who called her the N-word

CBS46 news anchor Sharon Reed deserves all kinds of medals for her flawless comeback to a Kathy Rae after the viewer sent an email to the station calling Sharon a ni***r for her coverage on Atlanta's mayoral election. Specifically, they were discussing the part that race was playing in the contest between Councilwoman Keisha Lance Bottoms, who is black, and Councilwoman Mary Norwood, who is white. "It's also worth noting that Bottoms was the default Democrat in the nonpartisan race and Norwood was a closet Republican".

It wasn't the first time someone called journalist Sharon Reed the n-word.

The email says Reed should be fired for a "race baiting comment" and says: "It's o.k. for blacks to discuss certain subjects but not whites, really-?"

Sharon read the email to viewers on live television, mentioning how Kathy couldn't even properly spell the derogatory word she was trying to use.

It was not immediately clear what exactly Reed said that prompted the email. You are what I call a n--r not a black person.

She said the viewer mischaracterized what Reed had said. "And it's one that has clearly entered the Atlanta mayor's race". No. 1: You mischaracterize what I said.

As Reed noted in her segment Tuesday night, the reason you're probably counting the asterisk censors right now and growing confused is because Kathy Rae repeatedly misspelled the n-word in her dumbass email.

A TV news anchor has shut down a racist viewer live on air, and the footage is one of the most satisfying things I've seen in a while.

"I get it. On Dec. 5, 2017, you think it's OK to call this journalist a n--". "And that will be the last word".

"I'm going to hold it, because I think there's some confusion behind the scenes", Reed responded, before explaining that she never said white people couldn't talk about racial issues.
