Auto hits pedestrians in lower Manhattan, NYPD says

At least six people were hurt when a auto ended up on a sidewalk after crashing into two other vehicles in Lower Manhattan. The three pedestrians suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to preliminary reports from police.

One of the victims was taken to Bellevue Hospital and two were taken to New York Presbyterian Downtown.

The incident happened around 1:20 p.m.at the intersection of Broadway and Liberty Street, according to the NYPD. It appeared the auto had jumped onto the curb where pedestrians were hit. Police and fire departments are at the scene and the driver of the vehicle is in custody. Authorities were working to determine whether the crash was intentional.

The driver of the Lincoln is being questioned by police.
