Comedian Hannibal Buress arrested in Wynwood and calls the police 'goofy'

Comedian Hannibal Buress has been arrested for disorderly intoxication over the weekend.

Buress questions the officers about why he's being detained and is informed that he was "trespassing". According to the Miami Herald, his offenses were unclear at first, but Miami police arrested him around 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Northwest Second Avenue and 20th Street during the Miami Art Week festivities. In it, the comedian is seen talking to the cops that arrest him.

"Am I under arrest?"

"What am I detained for?" The arrest came after Buress, allegedly intoxicated, reportedly asked an officer to hail an Uber auto for him. The comedian says, "You know y'all goofy as f--" and that the police "don't have probable cause for anything". After much back-and-forth and a dramatic standoff, one officer walked to rear of the vehicle to pull Buress from the back, while the other began to use force and violently pushed Buress into the vehicle from the front as pedestrians walked by. The officer asked Buress to leave, but he went inside a nearby bar instead. When the officer refused, Buress became hostile and was eventually arrested according to an official report released after public requests for the records. The officer apparently followed himas he felt Buress was too drunk.

While Buress was booked into jail after the incident, he posted the $500 bail shortly afterward, at just before 6 a.m. on Sunday.
