Gear Up for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds With Limited-Edition Cosmetic Packs

Although PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has become something of a worldwide phenomenon, gamers everywhere are undoubtedly exhausted of experiencing the same Russian landscape time and time again.

Developer Bluehole has shown off the first in-game footage of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' long-teased and hugely anticipated new desert map.

The new map, Miramar, will launch on PC through the game's test servers at midnight Pacific tonight. It's called Miramar, and it was shown in motion for the first time Thursday night during The Game Awards. PUBG Corp. also confirmed that the game's 1.0 release on PC will be December 20.

Whereas the one existing map, Erangel, has lush forests and lots of green, Miramar is quite different in terms of layout and design. How convenient! The map will be free for all players, by the way.

With a December 20 release date, it will certainly complicate Game of the Year discussions if it has a smooth launch.

There's only around 20 seconds of new desert map footage, admittedly, with an additional 60 seconds of bluster around it, but an terrible lot has been packed into those brisk few moments.

On a final note in the trailer, PUBG Corps confirmed that the 1.0 release "official" release for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on PC is locked in for December 20th, 2017, which will bring an end to the game's Early Access period.
