Jeffrey Tambor Insists He Hasn't Left 'Transparent'

After two allegations of sexual harassment were made against star of Transparent Jeffrey Tambor, the actor announced he would not be returning to the Amazon series next season. For instance, Mr. Tambor was widely believed to be leaving "Transparent" after he issued a statement saying, "I don't see how I can return". In a statement to the New York Times, Tambor's agent Allan Mayer said that a final decision hasn't actually been made by either the actor or Amazon Studios.

Tambor is facing an investigation from Amazon over multiple allegations from actresses who say he sexually harassed them.

But he also said that he didn't see how he could return to the series given the "politicized atmosphere" that is now on set following the harassment claims.

The fifth season of Transparent hangs in the balance as the writers await the results of Amazon's investigation.

Tambor has starred as transgender matriarch Pfefferman since 2014.

"I've already made clear my deep regret if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being aggressive, but the idea that I would deliberately harass anyone is simply and utterly untrue", he said. Tambor responded in a statement where he denied those claims. "I am appalled and distressed by this baseless allegation".

He was hit with a second accusation a week later, when Trace Lysette, who plays a transgender yoga instructor on "Transparent", said Tambor "got physical" with her on set, and pressed his body against hers while thrusting. "If you only knew what I'm going through.' But I knew".

"Playing Maura Pfefferman on Transparent has been one of the greatest privileges and creative experiences of my life", he said. Now I find myself accused of behavior that any civilized person would condemn unreservedly. "I have never been a predator-ever".
