'Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors' Animated Movie to Feature Diverse Superheroes

Voice actors for the project include ABC's Agents of SHIELD's Ming-Na, Chloe Bennet and Dove Cameron, as well as Milana Vayntrub as Squirrel Girl, the role she was signed to play in the live-action New Warriors series now being shopped to outlets after Disney's Freeform passed on the project. "So I'm very excited that our Marvel Rising team of heroes is so inclusive, reflecting characters with different backgrounds, particularly a set of strong female leads that our young audience can connect with", said Cort Lane, Marvel's Senior Vice President of Animation & Family Entertainment. "It came out of a desire to be able to tell stories about characters that we think are the next great heroes of the Marvel universe".

BuzzFeed confirmed Marvel Television is working on a new animated franchise called Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, and it'll feature a diverse collection of fan-favorites including Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, America Chavez, and more.

"Powered teens Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Quake, Patriot, America Chavez, and Inferno join forces as an unlikely, but formidable crew of aspiring heroes".

The Fosters' Cierra Ramirez will voice America Chavez. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress Ming-Na Wen appears in the voice-acting roster too, though not playing the role of Agent May - though here she's perfectly cast as the villainous Kree Hala the Accuser.

Doreen Green aka Squirrel Girl is the ever popular human mutate. Dove Cameron is providing the voice of Spider-Gwen, while Teen Wolf's Tyler Posey will be voicing Inferno. There have been three in Marvel's history, so it's unclear which one Kamil McFadden will be voicing.

Over the past 10 years or so, Marvel has exploded in popularity making Iron Man, Captain America and many others household names once again. Booboo Stewart will voice Exile. The always delightful Steven Weber will be voicing Captain George Stacy. Thoughts on the newest addition to the Marvel universe and the all-star cast Marvel has rounded up to voice the series' iconic characters? But like the all-Latino cast of Coco, it looks like Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors paid sharp attention to accurate and authentic casting, even if they're only acting behind a sound booth. Stan Lee, Sana Amanat and Marsha Griffin are co-executive producers, with Kung-Fu Panda story artist Alfred Gimeno serving as supervising director.
