Mi A1 owners can now apply to join Xiaomi's Oreo beta

Launched back in September, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is now ready for Android 8.0 Oreo Beta update, and testers are needed for the same.

The application states that all Mi A1 users are eligible to apply and only the device's IMEI number is to be provided for the application. The Mi A1 is powered by stock Android, meaning it avoids one of the arguably least desirable aspects of regular Xiaomi phones (MIUI) and gets one of the most desirable of others (stock Android). The IMEI number won't be revealed, and it can be obtained by dialing *#06#. Though it will still come with Mi camera app, Mi store, and Mi remote app. Mi A1 comes with a dual camera setup one 12 megapixels wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture another 12-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.6 aperture. If you use a Mi A1, you can check your IMEI by dialling *#06# on the phone's dialler.

Once those steps are completed, navigate to the homepage of the app and tap the "Recruitment" tab which will present you with a form to fill and submit. Click the Submit button. The company has taken to its official forum via GSMArena asking users of the device to register themselves for the beta testing program before December 11 at 11:59 PM Beijing time. You can follow the instruction given on Miui official site to take part in Android 8.0 Oreo beta test programme. Xiaomi states that the applicant must ideally have an interest to test betas and some knowledge about ROMs. They are also required to discuss and answer queries on the forum. A handy little reminder that this ROM isn't stable is included at the end. Also, bugs need time to fix and developers are not expected to rush to resolve issues.
