PSL final to be held in Karachi, eliminators in Lahore

The schedule of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) was announced on Thursday with past year winners Peshawar Zalmi pitted against new entrants Multan Sultans in the opening match on February 22. The first and third leg of the tournament will be played in Dubai while the second and fourth would be played in Sharjah. According to recent developments, the tournament will commence from February 22 next year, with the final game being slated for March 25.

The first match will be played between last season's champions, Peshawar Zalmi and the newest franchise of the league, Multan Sultans. While the rest of the league games will be held in Sharjah or Dubai, the PCB said that efforts are on to ensure that eliminators will be played in Lahore followed by the final in Karachi.

Karachi will host the final of the glittering event on March 25.

Meanwhile, the format will remain the same - all teams will face each other twice before the top four sides progress to the play-off stage. After the group stages and one play-off in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the three teams will move to semi finals which are scheduled in Lahore.

Mr. Sethi also added that he is hopeful that large people would show up on the match day to see their favorite teams and players performing in the match and that they would be tuning in on the high-quality HBL PSL broadcast on TV and digital platforms.
