'300 cuts in Padmavat' is untrue: CBFC

According to The New Indian Express, the State's government said that there was no order as such to ban the film's release.

In an official statement, the producers said, "We appreciate the balanced and considered approach that CBFC has taken to address this situation".

On December 30, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) chose to give the movie UA certificate with the suggestion that the title of the movie be changes to "Padmavat" from "Padmavati". As Per Latest Reports Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed film is all set to hit the screens on January 25, 2018. After a long haul with politicians and Censor Padmaavat was passed with a U/A certificate and necessary surgery by also changing it's name to Padmaavat.

The censor board cleared the film with a U/A certificate despite protests from the members of the Rajput Karni Sena.

- Change the disclaimer to one that clearly does not claim historical accuracy.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) last week announced its decision to grant the certification to the controversial Bhansali directorial - subject to five modifications including a title change.

"CBFC's process is complete and any further news about cuts is absolutely untrue".

Meanwhile, CBFC has suggested some 300 cuts to the film."The makers submitted the final film with agreed five modifications".

Prasoon Joshi-led CBFC chose to give U/A certificate to the period drama starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh.

Mr. Joshi said that they have approved the film and CBFC should not get involved in any controversy and he also added - "Let's refrain from utilizing CBFC's name unnecessarily". The historians were astonished whether Padmini actually existed. The film will clash with Pad Man, starring Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor, at the box office.
