Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 revealed at CES, coming in Spring

Dell's new $99 active pen works with the XPS 15 two-in-one. When not in use the pen will magnetically attach to the device. The design of the device remains unchanged, although it's highly likely Dell will end up bringing the next-gen XPS 13 design to the XPS 15 sometime in the near-future. The company removed the Type-A ports from the XPS 13 this year as well, but removing the Type-A ports from the XPS 15 simply just doesn't make sense as the device is still 16mm thick - which should theoretically be enough to fit in at least a single Type-A port.

It's certainly not unusual to see big tech companies claim various unique achievements, firsts and records for new products unveiled at major trade shows like CES, but whether or not the Dell XPS 15 is one-of-a-kind, its state-of-the-art features can not be ignored. RAM is available in quantities up to 16GB, while you can outfit this laptop with an SSD as large as 1TB if you feel like getting particularly insane. We'll keep you posted once Dell has more information regarding the laptop's arrival in Malaysia. The new structure should prevent the chassis from overheating and aid in power management.

This insulation directs heat out of the device, lowering the temperature of the XPS and enabling greater performance. It's still frustrating that Dell insists on keeping the front-facing camera below the display (especially considering its Latitude line manages to put the webcam in a normal spot, atop the display).

Both the FHD and 4K display options are touchscreens, and Dell made a new stylus to work with the XPS 15 convertible.

In terms of availability, the new XPS 15 2-in-1 is scheduled for release in April 2018 at a starting price of United States dollars 1299.99 (about RM 5215). Dell is the latest company to announce a notebook powered by one of the Core-processor-plus-RX-Vega-M packages.

Dell-like HP and other manufacturers-is positioning these larger convertibles as pseudo-gaming devices with their upgraded GPUs.

It joins the pre-CES new XPS 13 announcement, an updated version of the high-end laptop that now comes in a white and rose gold color scheme.

Billed as "the most powerful 2-in-1 ever", the flexible laptop is also the "smallest and thinnest 15.6-inch 2-in-1 available", starting at a 4.3-pound weight (that's less than two kilograms), while measuring 16 mm at its thickest point.
