"How To Kill Someone" Internet Search Helps Police Arrest Texas Wife

According to the publication, officers found Jon Garner dead on January 2 inside the home he and his 55-year-old wife shared. In her 911-call she told police "she was awakened that night by two gunshots and saw a masked male holding a gun and flashlight inside her residence".

The woman also insisted that the invader forced her to give him all the money stashed in a home safe, the amount of the which she said was $18,000, the Waxahachie Daily Light reported. She said if she did not, he would come back and kill her.

Norton told eParisExtra at the time: "There were rumors this was a random home invasion".

An arrest warrant for Sandra Garner was issued after the Texas Department of Public Safety crime lab matched the gun to the bullet inside Jon Garner's body.

As Ellis County Sheriff's, Maypearl police and the Texas Rangers began their investigation they returned to search the home, in the 100 block of Creekview Circle, where they found a small caliber projectile in a pillowcase in the master bedroom.

Eventually, a.38 caliber pistol wrapped in paper towels and shoved into several plastic bags was discovered in Garner's Ford Mustang. The gun reportedly wasn't there when authorities searched the same vehicle on January 2 and police believe Garner moved it after the first search.

Police seized electronic devices from the house and on one of them found "an internet link related to how to kill someone and not get caught".

Authorities said an initial search of the vehicle did not turn up the weapon.

The gun and the projectiles found in the pillowcase were sent for analysis and returned as being a match for the.38 found in Sandra Garner's vehicle. Between that and the pistol found in the auto, police arrested Garner on Wednesday and charged her with the murder of her husband. Her bond has been set at $2 million.
