India to tour Ireland for two T20Is in July

However, India have faced Ireland only once in T20Is during the 2009 ICC World T20 at Nottingham.

India's cricket board said Wednesday it would play two matches against Ireland ahead of the tour of England in July. The matches will be in Dublin on June 27 and June 29, the BCCI has confirmed.

The last time the side was there Ireland, they played an ODI at Belfast, winning the game by nine wickets via the Duckworth Lewis method.

"We are excited to welcome back India to Ireland for the first time in 11 years".

The match will be played in the year 2019 and is set to be a historic match for sure.

Interestingly, it was Rohit Sharma's debut global game for India. During the tour, the Indian team will face the Irish side in a two-match T20I series. India will first play three T20Is, which will be followed by three ODIs and then five Tests. It is also expected that some players will head to England before the others to get a feel of the conditions and play some County games.

The Virat Kohli-led Indian side is now in South Africa for Test and limited-overs series. Also, the Indian team will be hosting Afghanistan in their first ever Test match after getting the Test status earlier this year.
