Joshua and Parker to meet in March

Parker is set to bank about $12million from the fight (not $30m as mentioned in some recent reports) - and even more in the rematch should he be successful - he said money wasn't a motivating factor.

The Joshua-Parker victor will be missing only the world title belt owned by American Deontay Wilder (39-0, 38 KOs), who could loom for the victor later this year in what would be another massive fight. My entire existence is now devoted to proving what the boxing world already knows'. Listen mate. I know I am the best.

"These fights aren't easy because there's a lot on the line so respect to team Parker for taking the challenge".

Joshua unified the WBA and IBF titles with his famous win over Wladimir Klitschko last April, before subsequently battling out a late stoppage win over Takam in Cardiff in October. "Champions should fight Champions and AJ continues to step up to the challenges", Hearn said.

The division's other undefeated champion, World Boxing Council belt holder Deontay Wilder, defends his crown against Cuba's Luis Ortiz at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York, on March 3, it was announced earlier in the day.

"I'm delighted to get this fight made - it's been a long time coming", Hearn.

The victor of the fight will take a step towards becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

I like to fight, that's the main objective, and it's showing I'm never shy of a competition.

He clearly showed he could, against Klitschko, but he also struggled to hold off the much older Klitschko at times in that fight.

Parker's last fight was in England when he defended his WBO title for the second time, beating Britain's Hughie Fury on points in Manchester in September.

Matchroom Boxing, Joshua's promoters, said the bout would take place at the 74,500 capacity Principality Stadium, best known for staging Wales rugby union internationals. "It certainly won't be a shock to me when he beats Anthony Joshua and takes his titles back home to New Zealand".

Wilder, 32, is 39-0 with 38 knockouts.
