CBFC, in consultation with a special advisory panel, saw the movie last month and made a decision to grant the film a U/A certificate with five modifications, including title change and two disclaimers.

In an official statement, the producers said, "We appreciate the balanced and considered approach that CBFC has taken to address this situation".

Another Sena worker, Jeevan Singh Solanki told IANS that the group will not allow the film to release anywhere in the country.

The report further read that "Padmavat" director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been instructed to delete all references to Delhi, Chittorgarh and Mewar from the film and that "buzz is that they (the modifications) have resulted in as many as 300 cuts".

"Addition of a disclaimer which clearly makes the point that the film in no manner subscribes to the practice of Sati or seeks to glorify it".

Apart from this, changes have been ordered in the song "Ghoomar" to make the depiction "befitting" the character being portrayed.

While Padmaavat release has been banned in BJP-ruled Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh, Goa on Monday clarified that the movie could be released there.

It is co-produced by Bhansali and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. At the CBFC examining committee meeting on December 28, it was decided that the movie would be given a U/A certification as long as the makers incorporate the suggestions and modifications suggested. "We have full faith in the CBFC and in the transparent, fair and inclusive process that has been followed".

Historians are divided on whether Padmini actually existed.

Ranveer was reportedly asked if he was playing the role of a villain in the film, and he had said that he could go two notches beyond playing the role of a villain if he was given two intimate scenes with the film's leading lady Deepika Padukone.

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie will now clash on the box office with Akshay Kumar's Padman.
