Lady Vols forfeit 23-point lead, fall to No. 5 Irish

The Notre Dame women's team's biggest comeback win was also a bounce back from a recent humiliation by a top-10 opponent. The previous biggest deficit that the Irish had overcome in a victory was an 18-point hole against Duke in the Junkaroo Jam on November 26, 2011. But eight turnovers by the Lady Vols allowed the Irish to cut the lead to 54-46 before a pair of 3-pointers by Davis and Westbrook gave Tennessee a 60-50 lead after three quarters.

Tennessee fell to Notre Dame in Thursday's game, 84 to 70. Notre Dame shot just two free throws. Tennessee's 10-point total was the fewest it recorded in a fourth quarter this season.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will play the Clemson Tigers in one of the college basketball games on Saturday, start time at 4:00 PM ET, at Littlejohn Coliseum, Clemson, South Carolina.

Nebraska 72, #23 MI 52: James Palmer Jr. scored 19 points and Isaiah Roby added 14 as the host Cornhuskers (14-7, 5-3 Big Ten) handed the Wolverines (16-5, 5-3) their most lopsided loss of the season. After keeping pace for six minutes, the Irish were able to scrap their way back into the game via a 9-1 run that trimmed the deficit to 10.

Notre Dame: Hosts Clemson on Sunday. Geben led the Irish with nine rebounds and Mooney added seven.

Josh Okogie led Georgia Tech (10-9, 3-3) with 18 points, while Ben Lammers and Abdoulaye Gueye each had 12.

UIndy 79, Truman 63: Martha Burse scored 28 points and Sarah Costello had 17 for the host Greyhounds (6-12, 3-5 Great Lakes Valley), who led 31-27 at halftime.

Kenny Carpenter scored 23 points for Cleveland State (5-15, 2-5), which took the lead for good on Jamarcus Hairston's layup with 22 seconds to go.

Gabe DeVoe had 17 points including a critical 3-pointer with 3:18 left to keep the Tigers out front.

Junior guard Shelton Mitchell scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half while Marcquise Reed also had 12.

The Tigers (15-3, 4-2 in the ACC), who host Notre Dame on Saturday, made 15 of their first 16 shots in the second half, including 15 in a row, to pull within 64-62 with 8:01 left in the game, but could not get over the hump against the Tar Heels.

The Trojans (14-6, 5-2 Pac-12) entered with a 14-game losing streak against the Ducks (12-7, 2-4) that dated to 2009.
