Las Vegas shooter's girlfriend said she handled ammo

An FBI agent tells a judge in warrant documents made public Friday that Marilou Danley wasn't arrested when she returned to the US from the Philippines days after the October 1 shooting, and that she was cooperating with investigators.

Paddock's three-bedroom house in a retirement community in the city of Mesquite was searched twice - first by police and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents in the hours immediately after Paddock was identified as the shooter.

The emails discussing bump stocks appeared to be sent between two accounts on July 6, both of which were run by Paddock, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The newly released documents do not answer the main question that has lingered since the October 1 attack: What motivated Paddock to carry it out? An FBI investigator reportedly said in one of the documents that "investigators need to determine who was communicating with him about weapons that were used in the attack".

One of the warrants describe the extent to which Paddock went to conceal his actions, saying he "destroyed or tried to hide digital media devices". An agent wrote in the search warrants that "if there were any information related to a potential conspiracy, it would be found within" the locked phone, which operated on the Google platform, meaning that it nearly certainly was not an iPhone.

Two of the cellphones were unlocked and authorities were able to examine them, producing no significant information about Paddock's plans or preparations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation wrote.

Unsealed search warrants reveal new particulars in regards to the Las Vegas bloodbath

The Las Vegas gunman exchanged emails about buying rifles and bump stocks months before he carried out the deadliest mass shooting in modern USA history using guns equipped with the device that allows semi-automatic weapons to fire almost as fast as automatic ones. The FBI special agent who signed the affidavit argued that since only that phone was locked, any information related to a criminal conspiracy would be found on it.

The documents didn't answer the key unanswered question: What motivated a 64-year-old high-stakes gambler to unleash gunfire from his room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay resort into an outdoor concert below.

However, the agent said authorities hadn't ruled her out as a person of interest. But it notes that while investigators had not found "any conclusive evidence" that she helped Paddock, knew about his plans in advance or lied to law enforcement, that remained "the subject of intensive review".

The newspaper also said investigators identified an email inbox belonging to Paddock that contained a message from a Gmail account officials believe was related to Paddock's preparations for the attack.

Paddock shot and killed himself before police arrived at his room at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino on the night of the shootings.

"The investigation has also revealed that Paddock may have been treated for yet unidentified medical conditions", an agent wrote.
